Honors Program
At Rollins, we strive to build rigorous, innovative courses to challenge the minds of our students. But even that isn’t enough for our top-tier performers. That’s why we offer a highly selective program for students with exceptional abilities. The honors program brings together some of Rollins’ brightest minds to solve the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. Beginning in their second year, honors students complete a set of five seminars designed to enhance adherence to the core missions of the College and encourage students to take intellectual risks, all in service of applying a liberal arts understanding to critical issues of our time.
Next-Level Learning
Throughout their time at Rollins, honors students take intimate, interactive seminars designed to deepen their understanding of the liberal arts and expand their worldview. Each seminar is designed to be interdisciplinary, combining the arts, sciences, and humanities in a deep dive on a contemporary topic.
Immersive Experiences
Honors students also participate in special meetings, Immersions, and community projects designed to enrich their experience. Honors students are encouraged to study abroad, and the program is designed to exemplify global citizenship. They’re not just talking about solving some of the greatest problems of our time, they’re putting their ideas to work in the world through experience and action.
A Tight-Knit Community
Because honors students go through the program in a cohort, they develop strong relationships with both their peers and professors, creating an even more personalized learning environment at Rollins and a network of champions and collaborators long after graduation.
Senior Thesis Project
The honors program culminates in a capstone thesis program designed to give students a cutting-edge opportunity to think critically about their field of study and innovate ways to use what they’ve learned for good.
