Professor of Economics, Academic Director of Kathleen W. Rollins Women in Finance Program

Anca M. Voicu, PhD, is a professor of economics at Rollins College whose teaching and research explore the global forces that shape markets, institutions, and communities. Her areas of expertise include international trade, the economics of the European Union, financial macroeconomics, economic development, and the relationship between trade and the environment.

At Rollins, Dr. Voicu teaches courses ranging from International Economics and Financial Markets and Institutions to Economics and Culture, helping students connect economic theory to real-world questions about globalization, sustainability, financial systems, and public policy.

Since 2022, she has led the Kathleen W. Rollins Women in Finance Program as its academic director, where she develops curriculum, advises students, supports career preparation, and builds relationships with mentors and employer partners in the financial industry.

Voicu speaks five languages, and her scholarship includes peer-reviewed research on European production networks, corruption and trade, EU enlargement, global value chains, and the environmental effects of trade liberalization. She is co-author of Trade, Development and Structural Change: Central and Eastern Europe and has presented her research at academic conferences across the U.S. and Europe. Her work reflects Rollins’ commitment to global citizenship, applied learning, and close faculty-student collaboration.
