Evening EduCare
Free Childcare, While You’re In Class
At Rollins, support for your academic journey extends beyond the classroom. The Evening EduCare program provides free, high-quality child care for school-aged children during the Graduate Studies program’s evening classes—so your child can learn while you learn.
How Evening Educare Works
Evening EduCare is a structured evening childcare program that supports children’s academic, social, and emotional growth while you attend class. The program is free for all Graduate Studies students and their children ages 5 to 11. Enrichment activities include math and science exploration, arts and crafts, music, and physical activity—all carefully designed to align with best practices in afterschool programming for school-age children.
-
Free for All Students
Through a generous donation from The Warren and Augusta Hume Foundation, the Evening EduCare program is available at no cost to all Graduate Studies students.
-
High-Quality Care
Guided by the School-Age Care Environment Rating Scale® (SACERS) for space, safety, activities, interactions, and program structure.
-
Flexible Scheduling
Available Monday through Thursday from 4:15–9:30 p.m., with flexible blocks that align with the Graduate Studies program's evening classes.
-
Personalized Attention
Mirroring Rollins' commitment to personalized learning, a 1:6 staff-to-child ratio ensures each child receives individualized attention and support.
-
Safety & Convenience
Located on campus at the Hume House Child Development & Student Research Center, so that you can drop your child off on the way to class.
-
Screen-Free Learning
Evening Educare emphasizes hands-on learning and interactive experiences, free from electronics, to foster creativity and connection.
“At her after-school program, every time I pick her up, she’s off by herself, and they watch a lot of TV. The quality at Rollins is way better, and the people actually care about her. There are no iPads, which I love, and the attention she gets is more positive.”
