Study Abroad in Switzerland
MPH 546: Global Public Health – Geneva, Switzerland
In an increasingly interconnected world, public health problems and solutions are not isolated by geopolitical borders. This field study explores public health in a global context. Students will travel to Geneva, Switzerland, where multiple UN agencies and countless organizations working to improve health worldwide are headquartered. You will learn firsthand from professionals working in the field of global health at organizations such as the World Health Organization, Doctors Without Borders/MSF, UNICEF, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the United Nations Headquarters for Human Rights.

- Program Location: Geneva, Switzerland
- Term: Summer with travel typically in June
- Credit: 3, Standard Letter Grade
- Course Requirements: 4 weeks prior to departure include classes, lectures, exams, and a term paper. During the final 10 days of the course in the field in Geneva, students must write a daily reflection journal that includes the following sections: professional learning, cultural learning, and personal learning.
- Scholarships: Students can apply for need-based scholarships through the program application. Awards range from $500-$2500.
