Professor of Mathematics

Dr. Teymuroglu is a mathematical biologist specializing in epidemiological and network models. She has collaborated with researchers from U.S. institutions, the University of Waterloo (Canada), and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). Recently, she completed a sabbatical at Trinity College Dublin, where she worked with the Population Health and Behaviour Group to develop mathematical models for studying the opioid epidemic. Since 2022, Dr. Teymuroglu has served on the Orange County Public Health and Safety Team. She is passionate about teaching students to apply their classroom learning to real-world problems. Her course offerings include Math for Industry, Mathematical Modeling, Inequalities by the Numbers, Ordinary Differential Equations, and Rethinking Mathematics: Applications.
