In June 2025, Denise Naranjo ’12, director of marketing with A Gift for Teaching, led The Great Big Backpack Build—a massive initiative to pack 25,000 backpacks with supplies for local Orlando students. The event kicked off A Gift for Teaching’s Ready for Back-to-School summer campaign in an impactful way.

Ed Bustos, Rollins assistant vice president of enrollment management and director of international admission, is also a former board member and led a Rollins team to join in this event at the Orange County Convention Center.

A Gift for Teaching serves as Central Florida’s primary provider of free school supplies to teachers for their students who need them most.
