Computer science professor Sirazum Munira Tisha and computer science major Mauricio Viana ’26 presented their collaborative research at the 39th Annual CCSC Southeastern Conference.
At the 39th annual Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC) Southeastern Conference, computer science professor Sirazum Munira Tisha and computer science major Mauricio Viana ’26 presented their research exploring the role of generative AI in computer science education. The conference was held November 7-8 at Mercer University.
Their paper, titled “Integrating Generative AI in CS Education: Trends, Challenges, and Pedagogical Innovations – An ACM-Based Literature Review,” was accepted as a full paper and explores the emerging role of generative artificial intelligence in computer science education. The work offers a comprehensive analysis of current academic literature, highlighting trends, pedagogical opportunities, ethical considerations, and challenges as AI continues to transform the educational landscape.
Mauricio, who is also minoring in data analytics, collaborated closely with Tisha to examine how generative AI supports learning, assessment, and curriculum design across computing programs.
This project was supported by the John Hauck Foundation SFCR Fund, the Student-Faculty Collaborative Scholarship Program, the Colling-Clint Foundation, and the Bertoni-Clint Foundation Scholar Program.
This accomplishment reflects Rollins’ commitment to fostering impactful student-faculty research and preparing future technologists to engage thoughtfully with emerging AI innovations.
