The Office of Title IX leads Rollins’ efforts to prevent and respond to sex and gender-based discrimination.

Rollins College is committed to creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and respectful community in which students, faculty, and staff can work together in an atmosphere free from discrimination on the basis of sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and pregnancy/pregnancy-related conditions.

Sexual harassment (which includes sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking) is a form of sex discrimination. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sexual harassment is also prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, other applicable statutes, and College policy.


What is Title IX?

Title IX states that, “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.


Rollins does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational program and activities or in the context of employment. Sexual harassment, including sexual misconduct as defined in the Title IX policy, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Tile IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Sexual harassment is also prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other applicable statutes.

Title IX protects individuals of all genders, including individuals that identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender.


Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinators

The College has appointed a Title IX Coordinator as well as Deputy Title IX Coordinators to oversee its response to all reports of sexual misconduct and harassment, conduct training, and coordinate compliance with the requirements of Title IX.

The Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinators are knowledgeable and trained in the College’s policies and procedures, and state and federal laws, that apply to sexual misconduct and harassment, and the dynamics of sexual misconduct and harassment. The Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinators are available to meet with any individual to discuss the options for resolving a report under this policy.

Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Misconduct Reporting Form

This form should be used to report any incident involving an alleged violation of the Rollins College Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Related Misconduct Policy, which includes sexual or gender-based harassment, sexual assault, interpersonal violence, stalking, and other forms of sexual and gender-based misconduct or discrimination.
