1. Immerse yourself in the arts

Did you know that Orlando is ranked among the top cities in the U.S. for arts and creativity? Head to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for everything from world-class Orlando Ballet performances and traveling Broadway shows to celebrated musicians and comedians. And thanks to the Rollins Museum of Art and Annie Russell Theatre, you can get your fill of the arts right on campus.

2. Celebrate culture & diversity

Starting in October, the city comes alive with Come Out With Pride Orlando, an annual parade that celebrates our LGBTQIA+ community and its allies. You also don’t want to miss FusionFest, a two-day festival that showcases the diverse cultures of Central Florida through music, dance, and culinary delights. Speaking of culinary delights, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival offers a global tour of cuisine—without ever having to leave the park.

3. Get into the spooky spirit

It probably comes as no surprise that Orlando is the ultimate destination for Halloween fun. Experience spine-chilling thrills at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights as your favorite horror movies come to life. Or if you like your Halloween celebrations to have more treat than trick, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disney World offers just the right amount of spooky fun.

4. Have we mentioned the weather?

While the rest of the country is cooling down, we’re just getting warmed up. With average highs of 84°F and two coastlines of sandy beaches within an hour’s drive of campus, it’s no wonder why so many folks flock to Florida this time of year. Just remember to bring your sunscreen.

5. Enjoy the natural beauty of Florida

Need a break from the theme parks? Immerse yourself in Central Florida’s natural wonders instead. Take a scenic boat tour in Winter Park or head to Cocoa Beach for a dolphin and manatee cruise, where you can see Florida’s beautiful native species in their habitats. Or if you prefer to get active, spend a day canoeing or kayaking the crystal-clear waters of Wekiwa Springs.

6. Score big with Orlando sports

No matter which team you root for, there’s something for every fan in Orlando. Catch the excitement of Orlando City Soccer as they face off against some of the world’s top stars at Inter&CO Stadium, or get a sneak peek of the NBA season with the Orlando Magic’s pre-season games. And don’t forget to check out the official Rollins game day calendar for a dose of collegiate action, including men’s soccer, women’s basketball, and more.
