Matt Hawks has received honorary life membership in the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).
Matt Hawks, associate vice president of human resources and risk management, has received honorary life membership in CUPA-HR, an association of HR professionals in higher education. Honorary life membership in CUPA-HR is granted to a small number of leaders who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the higher-education human resources profession and long-term leadership in the association.
Hawks, a longtime member of CUPA-HR, was an integral member of the Florida Chapter board for several years, serving as board president from 2003 to 2005. Hawks also served on the Southern Region board of directors for five years, culminating in a term as chair during the 2010-11 fiscal year, and was recognized with the CUPA-HR Southern Region Distinguished Service Award in 2015. At the national level, Hawks served on several committees and assisted with the Emerging CUPA-HR Leaders program.
“The CUPA-HR and Rollins communities have been extremely fortunate to have an individual who consistently provides high-quality service to stakeholders; performs above and beyond the normal job expectations; embodies innovation, creativity and initiative; displays extraordinary teamwork; and has made significant contributions both in support of CUPA-HR colleagues and to the profession,” shares Rollins’ interim vice president of HR and CUPA-HR southern region chair-elect Jennifer Addleman and HR director and CUPA-HR national board member David Zajchowski.
Hawks will retire from Rollins in July after a distinguished 29-year career with the institution.
