Tulsa Service Year (TSY) is an organization that recruits and pairs a handful of exceptional, change-driven college graduates from across the U.S. for a one-year paid fellowship with a Tulsa nonprofit organization.

Ricardo Pierre has been paired with the National Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (ASF), an organization that develops leaders in a year-long, co-curricular leadership and community impact program to address unmet health needs in various communities. He will support the Tulsa-based ASF office in strengthening community partnerships, engagement strategies, and program operations with the aim of connecting ASF’s national network to Tulsa’s local leaders, nonprofits, and communities.

At Rollins, Pierre immersed himself in hands-on learning through field studies in Singapore and Tanzania and deep involvement with the Center for Leadership & Community Engagement (CLCE), where he has served as a service learning coordinator since graduation. In this role, he has led service initiatives, trained student facilitators, coordinated large-scale events like SPARC Day, and expanded the impact of the Immersion program.

“This fellowship will further my career journey in social impact and community engagement, allowing me to work in a mission-driven organization contributing to addressing systemic issues and making a positive social impact,” says Pierre. “Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey, from my supervisor Sam Justice to my coworkers and friends in CLCE to all the additional staff and faculty who have empowered me at Rollins .”
